First Ever Future Star

(Huntington Station, NY) Casmir Autosport is proud to announce the name of the first Casmir Autosport Future Star. The Future Star program is designed to promote young American open wheel and sports car racers. The mission is to help these drivers get noticed and hired by professional race teams.

The first Casmir Autosport Future Star is Wes Henderson of Wheatley Heights, NY. Henderson is a 19-year-old multiple Karting champion and a Mechanical Engineering student at Polytechnic Institute of NYU. Henderson was named Rookie of the Year at the 2008 Formula SAE West competition.

"Wes has what we refer to as 'The Package'," said Casmir Autosport Team Principal Brian Bielanski. "The Package is a special combination of on-track talent and off-track personality. He is a proven winner and great to work with from a sponsor and fan perspective. Young drivers like Wes are exactly why we have created the Future Star program and why we are so passionate about our F1 USA 2025 project.

F1 USA Progress Report

Project F1 USA 2025 is progressing nicely. Our project is in the early stages. Our primary emphasis right now is three fold... create awareness, raise funding and put drivers in cars and karts as quickly and often as possible.

Creating awareness is something all of you can help with. Tell your friends about the project. Put links to our website on your website. Post information about the project on web boards. Every little bit will help.

When we say raising funds, we're referring to generating corporate sponsorships, soliciting donations for new and used equipment and individual contributions. You can help in any of these areas.

If you run a business, let us show you how partnering with us is a good use of your marketing dollars.

Do you manufacture race cars or karts, build engines, sell tires or parts? Can you provide us with hotels, rental cars, air fare, or gas cards? Are you in a position to help us a acquire tractor trailers, race transporters, pickup trucks, trailers, crew transport vans or motor homes. We also need, laptop computers, racing radios, data acquisition systems, video cameras, hand tools, air tools, air compressors, tool boxes, pit equipment, pit boxes and golf/pit carts. We'll barter a sponsor package for new equipment. Do you have used equipment that you are aren't using any longer. That box of junk in the back of your garage might be our bag of gold.

Did you know you can make an individual contribution to help the F1 USA dream become reality. The Challenge: F1 USA

The Challenge... Win the Formula 1 World Championshipwith an American Driver and an American Built Car.

Only twice in history, and not since 1978, has an American driver won a Formula One World Championship.

An American built car has never won a Formula One World Championship.

Casmir Autosport has set a deadline of 2025 to win both a World Drivers' and Constructors' Championship with an American driver and an American built car. Our first goal is an American Driver's Champion. Our second, and much more difficult goal, is to win a Constructors' World Championship with an American built car.

The United States was not built by those who waited and rested and wished to look behind them. This country was conquered by those who moved forward. Our goal is to the win the World Championships by 2025, not because they it is easy, but because it is hard, because the goal will serve to organize and measure the best of our energies and skills, because the challenge is one that we are willing to accept, one we are unwilling to postpone, and one which we intend to win.

Do those words sound familiar? They were adapted from a speech delivered in 1962. Worlds spoken so eloquently by John F. Kennedy. Of course, JFK was referring to the race to land a man on the moon. I'll concede winning a motorsports championship is not akin to landing on the moon but taking on this endeavor can, and I believe will, have a similarly far reaching effect and I intend to work tirelessly to make it a reality.

Beyond the competition, there is so much to be gained by this effort. It will be a shinning example of what America can do when we put our sights on a goal. I believe in the next quarter century the automobile as we know it today will change dramatically. From safety to alternative fuels, motorsports has always been the proving ground for today's street cars.

Our plan has several components. The corner stone is our junior team driver development program. It takes funding out of the equation and allows any driver with desire and talent to compete for a series of professional rides leading to a seat in F1. The training ground for these young drivers will be first karts then both open wheel and sports cars in North America. Casmir Autosport will field teams in Formula Mazda, World Challenge, ALMS and/or Grand Am, Formula Atlantics and/or Indy Lights, Indy Car and eventually Formula One.

This ladder goes against the conventional wisdom that drivers must compete in the European junior formulae prior to going to Formula One. We contend that's one of the reasons why American drivers have been unsuccessful in Formula One. European teams won't hire driver's they have never heard of, American companies don't want to sponsor drivers in European series and American drivers don't want to move to Europe. This shuts most doors to Formula One.

We're going to fund our program in several unique ways. We're going to solicit private contributions to be placed in an endowment of sorts. We'll use a combination of traditional sponsors and the revenue from the endowment to fund the team. In addition we will partner the American automotive industry, technology firms, universities and colleges; all of which will benefit from participating in this endeavor. I'm convinced that what we learn from this process will end up on the street cars of tomorrow.

The final piece of our puzzle is our Racing for Charity program. A charity organization will be featured prominently on each car for every race we compete in from Formula Mazda to Formula One. A small donation through the Racing for Charity program earns the charity money and a chance to be featured on the car. This costs the charity nothing and 100% of the donations made through the program are passed on to the intended charity.

The critics may contend I am out of my mind. Those who know me might agree. The critics will question whether Casmir Autosport and America has what it takes to make this happen. To that I would say just one thing, there were critics in 1962 and America proved them wrong. I don't know who said it first but I start every day with one thing in mind. Dream big or don't dream at all.
